Our Story

Our founder, David Elyachar, has a rich history in the industry, from working as a retail carpet salesman to later becoming a mill representative. This extensive experience gave him a deep understanding of the floor covering business and an extensive network of industry contacts that continue to play a vital role in the success of our venture.
The idea for Big Bob's Flooring Outlet was born in 1983, when David and his family decided to replace the "like new" carpet in their recently purchased home. The carpet did not match their furnishings, but was nearly new, making it seem wasteful to simply discard it. They opted to advertise the carpet in the Sunday classifieds, which sparked a surprising response, with over 50 calls received from the single advertisement. This sparked an idea to create a business that would provide great value, quality products, and outstanding service to customers.
